The Lansinoh breast pump and BPA?
I have a Lansinoh double electric pump that I bought before they switched to BPA free plastic. I want to know how big a deal this is. Do I need to replace it? What if I only pump into it and never heat breastmilk in the bottles? Also, I already did use it a lot, and sometimes we would heat the milk in the bottles, how much should I worry? Can somebody give me a site that explains the whold BPA issue? Thanks
I’ve been on a BPA kick lately and one of the things I read about pumps is that the milk isn’t in contact for that long so it’s not considered problematic. So you are fine to keep what you’ve got. But like you’ve figured you don’t want to reheat the bottles or store the milk in them. I bought glass just for reheating purposes. And don’t worry. There has been limited exposure. I’ve been trying to look at the overall picture and decrease my children’s exposure when I can.
